Is it possible to use standard 3mm Earphones or Headphones with Galaxy tab or do you always have to use the supplied type with microphone included in the lead.
I ask for two reasons.
I do a lot of walking on roads and the in-ear design masks traffic sounds which makes for dangerous situations where you cannot hear traffic approaching. Open type designs are much better for this purpose. I do not use the Phone feature and only listen to spoken audio content.
At the other extreme I use a pair of sound cancelling headphones when riding on trains or aircraft.
Would the use of these 3-contact phones damage the 4-contact type system used in the Galaxy tab.
Can anyone explain please.
Regards, Colin.

You can use any headphones you like on the 7" version, so I'm pretty sure it's the same on the 10.1.

Thanks for the info, My device has a  7" screen (GT-P1000) , I don't know which version it is but I will try a set of standard headphones.
