When I plugged in my SGT 7.0 plus Windows 7 tried to load the drivers, but failed.  While I can plug it in to my pc and can see the device and copy stuff both to the device and the sd card, there is no method to 'safely remove hardware and eject media'.  Where can I find the correct software for this device for Windows 7?

Not sure, but I think you need to download and install Kies from Samsung's web site.  It should have Win7 drivers in it, too.  Have your tried that already?
